Premiere: Tamara Saul x DZA - Pink Skies In Dark Nights

After-dark theatrics from Russian producer lend an edge to Croatian R&B singer.

Back in January Croatian singer Tamara Saul popped up with an easy, breezy number that owed much to 90s R&B and hip hop, from Destiny's Child to Nightmares On Wax. For her new song Pink Skies In Dark Nights, Russian producer DZA pulls her into the 21st century: whistling synths, bubbling beats and rolling bass provide the perfect counterpoint to Saul's classic R&B vocal. A line like "better than hot cocoa, baby" would've sounded too saccharine in a summery context but against DZA's after-dark backdrop it has some much-needed bite.
