Kelis - Jerk Ribs (Mount Kimbie remix)

UK duo set the singer's new single to a stripped down, grittier groove.

Last we heard of Mount Kimbie they were doing a gig on a rooftop in Peckham, but now a sweet remix of Kelis' new single by the UK electronic duo has surfaced.

The original Jerk Ribs is the lead single from 'Food', the superstar singer's forthcoming album for British alternative hip hop institution Ninja Tune, and suggested a neat soul direction for the rest of the album. Mount Kimbie's remix is a little less crunchy than the original, Dave Sitek-produced version, stripping back the sleek, big band-ish original and supplanting it onto a grubbier, 808-led groove.

Ninja Tune will release 'Food' on April 21st 2014.
