Wiley posts series of tweets spreading antisemitic ideas
Wiley has posted a series of antisemitic tweets, calling the Jewish community “touchy”, aligning Jews with the KKK and reinforcing the racist trope of Jewish men controlling business.
“Infact there are 2 sets of people who nobody has really wanted to challenge #Jewish & #KKK but being in business for 20 years you start to undestand why,” he posted.
The grime MC rejected accusations of antisemitism, saying: “Forget anti Semitic racism is racism and ya can’t hide the fact that systemic racism exists and it wasn’t set up by us”.
The 41-year-old MC continued: “Is it anti semetic to say Jewish people have power? The Law hides behind the police who are the KKK.”
A tweet of Wiley’s from 2010 has been unearthed where he discusses Jay Z, saying: “jay z never done shit his self he has got a jewish manager with power don’t be foooled (sic).”
Wiley also mentioned the coronavirus pandemic, saying: “Fuck the mask and virus it’s all bullshit … it’s a fucking lie.”
It’s not clear what sparked his comments but they have drawn a lot of criticism, with Wiley seemingly pleased that his name is now trending on Twitter and asking: “Have I made the newspaper yet ?”
