Wiley has always been an artist who enjoys the element of surprise.
He dropped his last album, ‘Godfather 3’, two weeks early, and now another has come seemingly out of nowhere: ‘Boasty Gang – The Album’.
On Twitter, Wiley labelled it “Windrush Music”, and its release coincides with Windrush Day, the anniversary of the SS Empire Windrush arriving at Tilbury Docks which carried the first Caribbean migrants.
The 19-track release finds him exploring the dancehall and afrobeats-inflected sound he’s been spearheading on chart smashers like ‘Boasty’ and ‘Givenchy Bag’.
