Bernard + Edith announce debut album ‘Jem’

Bernard + Edith will release their debut album 'Jem' via Bella Union in May.

A key fixture of Manchester's vibrant underground and DIY music scene, Nick 'Bernard' Delap + Greta 'Edith' Carroll make dark, smoky electronic pop music driven by experimental sound design and unconventional vocal songwriting.

'Jem' draws on influences both musical (Fever Ray, Portishead, Cocteau Twins) and visual (Twin Peaks, music videos by Kate Bush). The album includes last year's singles Poppy and Wurds.

Also featured is a song called Rosemary, which the keenest of Dummy readers will know already – it was given its debut airing on Dummy TV and Tradiio's latest Coming Up film, starring Bernard + Edith, last week.

Tying in with this announcement, Bernard + Edith will play a show at the Shacklewell Arms in London this Thursday (February 26th). It's sold out, mind, so good luck with that.

You can stream a new song from the album called Tidal Wave now. Learn more about Bernard + Edith via our Next profile on the duo from last year.
