Premiere: Bernard + Edith - WURDS

When we interviewed dark Manchester pop duo Bernard + Edith for a Next feature earlier this year, they told us – off the record – that they'd 'inked a deal' (our words, not theirs) with Bella Union. A few months have passed since then, but they've now been allowed to actually announce it, and with that news comes the product of the signing: new single WURDS.

Like much of Bernard + Edith's music, there's a visual component to WURDS that, once seen, becomes inseparable from the music. In this case, it's a narrative that's been abstracted by smoke and swampwater.

WURDS is coming out on a 7" in a couple of weeks, and you can catch Bernard + Edith play a launch party for it in Manchester at The Eagle on December 3rd. If you're in London, you can catch them at The Lexington tonight, supporting Ballet School.

Most excitingly: expect an album to land in 2015.
