Yizzy signs to DMY Recordings: Hear the Devilman-featuring 'Freeze'

We’re hugely excited to announce that Yizzy has signed to our DMY Recordings label.

‘Freeze’ is the Lewisham grime MC’s debut on our imprint – drafting in cult Brum figure Devilman for a verse, it boasts lurching production from instrumental grime royalty Terror Danjah and Yizzy’s patois-inflected barring.

It’s the first single from his forthcoming EP ‘Welcome To Grime Street’, which will come out on June 7th 2019. “You’re going to see another side of me,” Yizzy says of the EP. “It’s gonna be a moment. It’s got deep and meaningful concepts, it’s got real life stuff about me…”

It follows his all-Australian remix of ‘Yeah’, where Yizzy tapped up MCs Nerve and Shadow from the southern hemisphere, as well as a string of high-octane singles and last year’s ‘S.O.S’ EP which found Yizzy trading fast flows and witty punchlines.

We’ve been following Yizzy for some time, after we shortlisted him for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Contest in 2017, which took him through to the live final (then as Young Yizzy).

The MC is the second signing to our brand new DMY label, after Croydon rapper Corella with the Cadenza-produced ‘Talk‘.
