Today's breaking news – Tuesday 28th February 2012

The stories you need to be on top of from the last 24 hours, from festival updates to album announcements.

Battles remixed by The Field, Shabbazz Palaces, Kode9, Gang Gang Dance and Hudson Mohawke for ‘Gloss Drop’ redux
The tracklisting for Battles’ ‘Dross Glop’ has been announced. Remixing tracks from the mathrock band’s slightly disappointing second full album are The Alchemist, Kode9, Shazz Palaces, The Field, Gui Boratto, Silent Servant, Kangding Ray, Patrick Mahoney & Dennis McNany, Qluster, Brian DeGraw of Gang Gang Dance, Hudson Mohawke and Eye of The Boredoms. They have very cutely made a playlist of every person who has remixed a track on the album, and you can play it below. Released across four 12“s, the CD will be out on April 16th on Warp.

Mosca and Julio Bashmore open show on Radio 1
Two of the recent bass explosion’s most compelling DJ-producers, Mosca and Julio Bashmore have both been given shows on The Nation’s favourite. In New DJs We Trust, a weekly programme showcasing new DJs, unsurprisingly, goes out every Thursday evening from 9-10, and the sign that two such talented producers are getting this level of exposure is part of a wider shake-up of Radio 1’s coverage of electronic music.

The day’s festival headliners headlines
Speaking of Mosca, he’ll be playing along side Kuedo, Appleblim and DJ Rashad at the Glade Festival, which takes place on June 14-17 at Houghton Hall, Norfolk.

Iceage, Kwes, Spector, Brandt Brauer Frick and Pariah are among the people playing the Camden Crawl, which takes place in London’s you-guessed-it on the 4th, 5th and 6th May.

Nicolas Jaar, Surgeon and Monolake have been added to the Bloc Weekend bill. Other names include DOOM, Battles, Orbital and FlyLo, and the festival takes place 6-7th July, in east London.

Etiene De Crecy has a huge retrospective on the way
The French house producer will be putting out a 5-CD best-of in April. One CD of studio productions, two of remixes and two of unreleased rarities from Etienne De Crecy will be out on the 6th April, and you can preview these over etiennedecrecy.fr.
