The Rapture return to DFA for their next album

Disco-punk band comes back to the motherlabel.

The biblical rapture didn’t actually happen, but Brooklyn-based band Rapture have come out with some interesting news today. Their Facebook and Twitter have stated that they have returned to the label where they enjoyed their first widespread success, ““DFA.*”:http://dfarecords.com/main/ Almost a decade ago, DFA, at that point a fledgling label, released The Rapture’s House Of Jealous Lovers as its first 12” single. A few more of the band’s classic singles came out on DFA and heralded in the disco-punk/punk-funk/whathaveyou revival that characterized the label’s early output, as well as a lot of music at that time. These singles enjoyed critical acclaim, but soon afterwards The Rapture and DFA ended their working relationship. Their next, and most recent, album, ‘Pieces Of The People We Love,’ was released on Universal and received a rather lukewarm reception.

Whatever the reason is for DFA and The Rapture being back together, we’re excited. DFA will be releasing The Rapture’s next album, ‘The Grace Of Your Love,’ on September 5th. Philippe Zdar, member of Cassius and producer of bands from Phoenix to the Beastie Boys, is producing the record, recorded in both Brooklyn and Paris.
