Chicago duo Supreme Cuts have been knocking out hits (hits in our corner of the universe, anyway) for a couple of years now, both under their own name and as backing tracks for some of our favourite rappers, such as Main Attrakionz, Haleek Maul and Mykki Blanco. Currently, they're lining up a new album called 'Divine Ecstasy' for Memphis Industries. The album's title is apparently a nod to German televangelist Peter Popoff, who sells a holy water that will immerse the buyer in a "divine trance", and if new single Envision is anything to go by, those words have been taken at face value. Envision features Channy Leaneagh from Minneapolis indie-pop group Poliça belting out guest vocals over an anthemic, festival-sized house beat, hands-in-the-air melody and half-step breakdowns designed to elicit a reaction that's, you know, ecstatic.
Memphis Industries will release Envision on September 23rd, followed by 'Divine Ecstasy' in October.
