Jam City – Unhappy

Jam City reveals the first single - a piece of abstract indie pop - from his new Night Slugs album, due out in early 2015.

Jam City has shared the first single from his new album for Night Slugs, due in early 2015.

We had a feeling that something was going on when Jam City shared his 'Earthly III' mix the other week. That mix was made up for strange, abstract indie pop music, which is sort of what you could describe Unhappy as.

It's quite different to what you might expect from Jam City, using a clanging drumset, psychedelic guitars, textural synths, and even vocals – possibly his own – rather than hard club rhythms, although it's not too hard to get to this point given his production on Kelela's Cherry Coffee.

Listen to it on Dummy, and head over to Jam City's website for the full, ad-enhanced experience. Jam City will play his debut live show at Kraków's Unsound Festival shortly.
