Premiere: Pedro 123 - Slush

Pedro 123’s only 18 but he’s already got clouty remix credits under his belt – not the least of which being a very clean refresh of MIK’s Donny Don – and has just put out his first solo release.

Icy like old Wiley and elusive and dark like Zomby, Slush wears influences on its sleeve but pushes the synth melodies and hollow rhythms to a bare extreme – a brave move that doesn’t feel at all forced on this fine debut. The rest of the EP features the whip-cracking Jetpack Joyride, and is rounded off by an up-tempo remix of the title track by Checan.
