Pearson Sound – Untitled & Footloose

David Kennedy's next venture, on his own label, is a tense, grimey tune back by his signature percussive flex.

David Kennedy has come out of winter hibernation to release two Pearson Sound productions, apparently on his own label (also called “Pearson Sound”) rather than his usual Hessle Audio stable.

Side one of the 12” vinyl is Untitled, a tense and percussive cut of chopped garage, melancholic strings and an instantly addictive grimey synth hook. First heard on Pearson Sound’s Boiler Room set last year, the radio rip has been tantalising Hessle fans for months.

The flipside is Footloose, another track which will likely be familiar to keen-eared Pearson fans after his smackdown of an Essential Mix on Benji B’s Radio 1 show recently. With no digital download available for Footloose, to hear it you’ll have to buy the vinyl or check out the Soundcloud of the Benji B mix – it’s the typically hyper-percussive track playing at 1h 11m. Buyers will receive free MP3s of both tracks with their purchase, only from the Surus store.
