After a year in production, and a journey which traversed nine Arab countries, the second series of Next Music Station has started on Al Jazeera World.

Directed by musician and documentary filmmaker Fermin Muguruza, the series begins in Lebanon, and works its way from Morocco to the Gulf in its quest to explore the relationships between traditional and contemporary music in Arab countries. Interviewing over eighty artists, the films discover how the younger generation are expressing themselves through transgressive genres.

Lebanon: Beirut Beats aired on Al Jazeera World on the 2nd August 2011.
