Manchester's Hoya:Hoya, Dutch Uncles and more start a football team for charity

Members of Manchester's alternative music scene will face off in five-a-side football tournament for charity the Lifeline Network.

Manchester beat institution Hoya:Hoya are one of the groups of musicians who will raise money for charity by starting a football team.

The Trof Trophy will see members of Manchester's music scene face off against one another in a 5-a-side football tournament to raise money for the Lifeline Network charity.

Besides FC Hoya (aka "Futebol Clube de Hoya Manchester"), the competition will include Dutch Uncles (presumably working off the calories from all those burgers), the Travelling Band, Band On The Wall, Sound Control, Stop Making Sense, Common Bar, Ear To The Ground and more.

The tournament will take place on Sunday 1st September at Powerleague Ardwick from 12pm-4pm. A post-tournament party will take place at The Deaf Institute from 4pm and will see the teams take to the decks. There will also be a quiz, hosted by Dutch Uncles, with prized donated by the teams.
