Jens Lekman has a new EP, which will be wittier than this headline
Swedish singer Jens Lekman, who makes music somewhere between Arthur Russell, the Avalanches and the Divine Comedy, and is likeable, intensely, has a new EP out. Secretly Canadian will stick out ‘An Argument With Myself’ on the 19th September, and it will probably be filled with well-observed bon mots over sampled soundscapes, like the below Postcard To Nina, about the time he had to pretend to be his lesbian friend’s boyfriend.
It’s his first since 2007’s ‘Night Falls Over Kortedala’, one of those albums people tell other people about until everyone likes it. He said repeatedly that he quit music to find a girlfriend, so he’s probably now going out with someone, which is great news all round.
