James Ferraro - Blood Flow

Later this month, James Ferraro will release his new mixtape, ‘Cold’, which follows on from his most recent LP, ‘Sushi’. ‘Sushi’ was a pretty straightforward and surprisingly enjoyable record by his standards, and the first cut to emerge from ‘Cold’ – Blood Flow – occupies a similar soundspace, adding touches of dark, post-Weeknd R&B to the rolling snares and overdone repetition that appeared across ‘Sushi’. Comparative to Ferraro’s past work it’s all very normal, but there’s an emphasis on the word “comparative” there – Blood Flow is still a weird piece of work.
