Girlpool - Before The World Was Big

I just miss how it felt standing next to you wearing matching dresses before the world was big.

Girlpool write hooky, poppy punk songs using little more than rhythmic guitar strums and bass stabs. Reared in LA and currently based in Philadelphia, Girlpool are readying their debut album, 'Before The World Was Big'.

It's billed as an album about growing up and friendship, and the relationship between identity and environment – all themes that, perhaps unspurprisingly, pop up on the album's title track, which retraces steps in the old neighbourhood during simpler times: I just miss how it felt standing next to you / Wearing matching dresses before the world was big.

Anyway, listen to the song below and take a look at their hefty slew of tour dates, which include a couple of stopovers on UK shores – two dates in London, and festival spots at End of the Road and Bestival.
