Australian-born, RVNG-signed duo Gardland are releasing their debut album 'Syndrome Syndrome' at the end of the month. The album was apparently recorded over a 10-day period following a trip to the Australian desert (and we do mean "trip" – the press release describes this as a "psychedelic excursion"), and you can hear the influence of this environment on their music – previously shared Syndrome Syndrome felt like techno as played by an acid psych band.
New track Magicville is a lot more gritty. That's not "gritty" in the overdriven, corroded tape sense that seems to be everywhere nowadays, but in how coarse the whole vibe is, as if the synths have been roughened up with sandpaper.
RVNG Intl. will release 'Syndrome Syndrome' on October 28th. Gardland will support James Ferraro at London's Corsica Studios on November 12th.
