FUNKTIONSLUST - Likeability

FUNKTIONSLUST are Joe and Sage, a duo from South London-via-Seattle who have released a couple of songs already – Dots and Seats. Both were low-tempo, icy, mysterious things, but their new single Likeability is a different beast althogether. It's basically a straight-up pop banger, although it keeps some of their more esoteric production tics in place (super chunky hi-hats, snaking synths, etc.). There's even this sort of Chic-ish guitar freakout at the end. Top marks.

There's a single release party happening at Powerlunches in Dalston, London on Tuesday (December 9th) which you probably ought to get yourselves over to. It's also the same day that Likeability will be released.
