First 100 discs of John Peel's record collection open online tomorrow

The vast online archive of John Peel's personal LP collection starts tomorrow.

John Peel’s extensive record collection is being put online 100 discs at a time – and tomorrow sees the uploading of the first 100, according to The Quietus.

As we reported back in February, some of John Peel’s personal collection of 25,000 vinyl LPs are set to become available for audiophiles to browse.

The records are being archived as part of an online museum project called The Space from May until October 100 albums will be scanned and uploaded weekly, along with personal notes, contributors’ stories and filmed interviews.

The first 100 items from the iconic DJ’s monumental collection will be online tomorrow morning at The Space.org and there will be 100 new additions each consecutive week.
