In case you haven't seen the news on Ace Hotel's social media, the hotel with probably the most cosiest beds in London are offering 12 lucky souls the chance of a winning open session in the Moog Sound Lab in honour of Dr. Robert Moog's legacy (or as Ace are putting it, a 'psychic handshake' with Bob). In this 2 hour in-room sonic experience you’ll have full access to the Moog Sound Lab under the guidance of Finlay Shakepeare, the Sound Lab's traveling technical engineer. He will be recording the sounds created over the 3 days and crafting them into an ‘Open Studio’ track.
For more on Bob, check the video below shot in 2004, which is a sensitive portrayal of a man who shaped the sound of modern music.
The dreamy set-up is currently shacked up in residence within its labrinth of rooms on Shoreditch High Street, with World Unknown's Andy Blake and Gazelle Twin already passing through gracing the dials with United Bible Studies' David Colohan currently immersed in there prepping for his performance on 13th August.
There's more info on the Ace Hotel x Moog Sound Lab here, with the project made very nicely audible by Bowers and Wilkins. Plus, directions to enter the competition below.
David Colohan performs his sprawing mass of tangled folk in the Miranda basement space on Thursday August 13th (list/tickets).
