That name says about all you need to know – Warung Mini is all beserk synth jams, extended drum tracks, whirrs and echoes from bust-up old FX units, lasting a fun, frazzled 10 minutes. The album came into being when the trio went to Rotterdam's WORM studio last year and were let loose, messing about with their many rare synths like kids in a candy store. The resulting jams were recorded straight to two-track tape, and nine of them will see a release on Sun Ark later this month.
M. Geddes Gengras and Sun Araw have been busy with a similar collaboration this year, having released a handful of records from Jamaican artists, recorded following their visit to the country to record with The Congos, via their Duppy Gun imprint. Drag City/Sun Ark will release 'The Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group' on September 17th.
