Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group - Warung Mini

Sun Araw, M. Geddes Gengras and Boredoms drummer Butchy Fuego collaborate on some analogue synth noodlings.

Boredoms drummer Butchy Fuego, M. Geddes Gengras and Sun Araw have collaborated on a new album under the delightful name The Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group.

That name says about all you need to know – Warung Mini is all beserk synth jams, extended drum tracks, whirrs and echoes from bust-up old FX units, lasting a fun, frazzled 10 minutes. The album came into being when the trio went to Rotterdam's WORM studio last year and were let loose, messing about with their many rare synths like kids in a candy store. The resulting jams were recorded straight to two-track tape, and nine of them will see a release on Sun Ark later this month.

M. Geddes Gengras and Sun Araw have been busy with a similar collaboration this year, having released a handful of records from Jamaican artists, recorded following their visit to the country to record with The Congos, via their Duppy Gun imprint. Check out I Jahbar's Spy here and Fyah Flames' What Would You Say About Me here.

Drag City/Sun Ark will release 'The Celebrate Music Synthesizer Group' on September 17th.
