Berghain launches new label blessed by Villalobos and Efdemin

Imprint of Berlin superclub's techno label Ostgut Ton will star bunch of electronic best.

Berghain, the Berlin megaclub called “the current world capital of techno” by notable writer Phillip Sherburne, has also released a steady stream of wonderful records through their label Ostgut Ton. Shed, Marcel Dettmann, and Steffi have all produced great albums for them Nick Hoppner’s label, culminating in the none-more-Berlin idea of a five LP album made by Berghain alumni using only sounds of their alma mater, meaning you got expansive minimal techno tunes which were using air conditioning ducts or whatever.

So, given that they make wonderful electronic music with a satisfying level of conceptual purity / absurdity, it gives us great pleasure to announce that they will now be releasing a remix-led sublabel. The first release will be a 12” of cuts from Tobias’s album ‘Leaning Over Backwards’, and the tracklisting looks something like this:

A: Leaning Over Backwards (Efdemin Remix)
B: Girts (Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer Remix)

Exciting!

Unterton will release Remixes by tobias on April 2, 2012

Steffi once made us a mix that was so popular it literally broke the site. Listen to it here!
