Applescal – Boys (ft. David Douglas)

Applescal, a producer of murky techno layered with glimpses of warped disco warmth, shared upcoming album track Boys with the world yesterday. The track features contributions from fellow Dutch beatmaker David Douglas, who shares his name with a 19th century Scottish botanist.

Boys is a festering, thumping groove, with a beat that seems to stumble over itself as synths spit and hiss their way through the five minutes. Over the production sits a muffled, sexy-but-sinister snippet of female voice, tapping into carnal desires strictly belonging to the witching hour.
