2562 - Wasteland (Head High Remix) [stream]

Head High has given 2562’s Wasteland a mighty, bombastic treatment. As one of Rene Pawlowitz’s many aliases, this German producer is best known as Shed. High Head caught our attention with his raw and heavy 90s rave revival house record, ‘It’s A Love Thing (Piano Invasion)’, that came out last year on Power House. His reinterpretation of 2562’s Wasteland is slow-building dancefloor killer. The clipped and scuffed house chords gently build up a rippling groove, which is empowered by those skittering techno drumbeats. It is quite an obvious departure from his rather experimental Ostgut Ton-released ‘The Traveller’ EP from last year. On the flip is 2562’s arguably most popular track from his ‘Fever’ album – Aquatic Family Affair, in its full glory, recut and extended. Both tracks will be featured on 2562’s ‘Fever Addendum’ via his own When In Doubt, due out on the 5th September. Alright, I’ll stop rambling, and let the music do the talking.
