Upcoming Devon-based imprint Art Is Hard Records have spent the last three years dealing in brilliant, fuzzy rock’n‘roll, but their latest release is something a bit more evocative. Teaming up with 18–year–old Bristol multi-instrumentalist Ellen Davies, alter-ego /please/, they’re set to release a “ghost white” cassette and digital download of the latter’s self-titled EP on July 22nd. Available to stream below is the lead track Chevrons, whose hypnotic charm hangs on the restraint of her beautiful, breathy tones in combination with narcotic acoustic thrums and a distant, throbbing beat. Recalling Liz Harris at her most commanding, a bright future clearly lies ahead for Davies.
