Kitty - Barbie Jeep (prod. Hot Sugar)

The dense and lively percussion courtesy of producer Hot Sugar on this new Kitty nee Pryde track is what really, really makes it worth your ears, but the New York-based rapper’s languid delivery and and quip-filled lyricism are as sharp as ever. Aside from its tantalising call-and-response refrain “Is it too hot to dance?/ No, we rock steady” and its moment of air-punching defiance in the line “I don’t really want your hands in my general vicinity” (delivered in Kitty’s characteristically flippant tone), Barbie Jeep is likely to become your favourite track of the summer that contains the words “Wingardium Leviosa”.
