Glass Animals - Black Mambo

Glass Animals’ latest effort is taken from a forthcoming double A-side ‘Black Mambo/Exxus’. Having dropped their ‘Leaflings’ EP in 2012, Glass Animals have been holed up in a makeshift studio in the heart of an Oxfordshire forest working on new material. A solitary and folksy mood pervades Black Mambo, while at the same time unsettling the listener with bass that booms haphazardly and crisp drums that keep the listener on their toes. Coupled with the razor-sharp production that one might expect from a Paul Epworth-affiliated piece, its crepuscular groove is all the more bewildering.

The quartet will be playing a number of live dates in 2013, with their biggest upcoming UK gig being at London’s Electrowerkz on 19th June – more information on that here.
