Childish Gambino – Make It Go Right (ft. Kilo Kish)

Famous comedy actor and writer Donald Glover flies under the name Childish Gambino by night when he’s busy making hip-hop. Gambino’s latest release, the free mixtape ‘Royalty’, has guest spots from heavyweights like Ghostface Killah, Bun B and up-and-comers like TDE’s Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul but it’s difficult to look past this duet with Kilo Kish – an artist whose lithe rap experimentation on her EP ‘Homeschool’ earnt a late entry in our very own best of spring album selection.

The song runs in the tradition of rap ballads with Gambino flipping the keyboard ditty and classic verse from LL Cool J’s seminal I Need Love. Kilo Kish may only be billed as a feature but she’s really the star on this one, coiling a sharp rebuke in her opening verse and singing the crisp chorus.
