Azealia Banks - BBD

As 2012 was winding up, Azealia Banks shared BBD – short for “Bad Bitches Do It”, FYI – as a “little New Years Eve hype for the ladies”. Over an Apple Juice Kid and Sup Doodle produced beat lodged between ubiquitous club fare – all cascading trappy snares and hefty bass – and something rather more menacing, Azealia sounds as assured as ever. Putting the brakes under her flow, BBD relies less on tongue-twisting spitfire disses and instead swaggers with ease, as she pauses to reflect on where her head’s at: “I’m just really out here living, something like the new edition”.

Whether BBD will appear on forthcoming debut ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ isn’t clear, although Azealia has confirmed that it won’t be the first single: – with Miss Amor instead chosen as the album’s lead track.

Polydor/Interscope will release ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ on 12th February.
