Aaliyah & Static Major – Steady Ground

Jeffery J.DUB Walker, member of Aaliyah’s production team The Hitmen,) tweeted something interesting over the weekend:

@JDUBAKAGOAT: “Just got great news today; the smash unreleased song called “Steady Ground” I produced on #Aaliyah is gonna be on her upcoming album:)”

So, big news – there may well be another Aaliyah album coming up. The track, featuring another tragically lost late 90s R&B talent, is below:

It’s called Steady Ground, and it is, frankly, steady. Like much of Static Major’s work, relies more on gentle melody than the alien tectonics of Timbaland, but it’s a highly listenable gem, from a valuable artist, who we’dbe happy to see more of.
