The 10 Best Disco Records Of All Time, according to Kevin Saunderson
Getting into the mood, we’ve put together a little Dummy Valentine’s playlist. The basic theme is grime love songs and we’ve picked some of the best of the last decade or so.
As much as we love a good war dub, grime, born out of 2step and garage really shines on the softer, more sensitive side of the spectrum. The productions and vocals here are idiosyncratic – from Ruff Sqwad’s emotionally saturated synth-heavy productions to the rap-influenced sampling popular in the middle of the decade and Sadia and Shola Ama’s killer R&G (rhythm & grime) combinations with Terror Danjah – but this is fitting for the genre and adds to their charm.
The tracks vary, and in places we play fast and easy with the genre. But, as is fitting, it’s the feeling we’re going for. Your Love Feels can be streamed below and we’ve added a tracklist too.
P.S. Don’t be shy in telling us your personal favourites in the comments.
