Festival updates from The Great Escape, Mutek, Lovebox and more

The Great Escape will see performing more than 300 bands and acts in total, playing in more than 30 venues spread across Brighton over the course of the three days. The multi-venue Brighton festival is taking place from Thursday 10th until Sunday 12th May.

Brand new announced acts for the multi-venue festival include London-based Tribes, Filthy Boy, Pond and Ren Harvieu among the others. They join the already-confirmed Micachu and The Shapes, the New York new-pop duo Tanlines, Grimes, Alabama Shakes, Django Django, Friends and many more.

LCD Soundsystem hero James Murphy with Pat Mahoney, under their Special Disco Version name, Jaguar Skills and Disclosure lead the latest 10 acts announced for Lovebox 2012 taking place over an earlier-than-usual weekend this year, from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th June. They join a line up that is more than promising, including Hot Chip and Friendly Fires, Crystal Castles, Marcus Nasty, Azealia Banks, Joy Orbison, Lana Del Rey and Andrew Weatherall.

Leicester’s Summer Sundae Weekender, which will be celebrated from Friday 17th until Sunday 19th August, sees 2009 Mercury Prize-winning Speech Debelle, and Agnes Obel joining the line up of the ‘On Safari’ themed festival. Ghostpoet, Asian Dub Foundation, Gold Panda, The Black Seeds, Death In Vegas and Ocean Colour Scene will also be performing.

With just under five months left to go before the Fort at Punta Christo (Croatia) opens its gates, Dimensions festival clears the path and welcomes the final artists to add to its already exciting line-up. Dimensions will host the very best in the deeper end of the electronic spectrum, including Carl Craig, London’s favourites Four Tet and Mount Kimbie. They will perform on the Adriatic coast from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th September, joining a rather juicy line up which features acts such as Theo Parish, Moodyman, Todd Terje, Levon Vincent, Pinch, Untold and many many more.

Canadian Mutek festival has unveiled the full line up for its 2012 edition, which will feature a set from acid house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald, and performances from electronic artist Tim Hecker, Sunn O))))‘s Stephen O’Malley, alongside with Nicolas Jaar, Blondes, Jeff Mills and many others. The festival is one of the world’s best showcases of electronic and experimental music, and it will be taking place in Montreal from May 30th to June 3rd.
