Last night, Blood Orange performed at a packed out 100 Club on Oxford Street, London, as part of Converse's Gigs @ 100 Club series in collaboration with The FADER. From Test Icicles through Lightspeed Champion and a million throwaway projects on the side, it's taken a good few years and a good few creative ventures for Dev Hynes to settle into something that he's truly comfortable with, but going by his performance last night, he's found himself in the best place he's ever been as Blood Orange.

Hynes is a supremely confident and compelling performer – despite a set that saw him joined onstage by girlfriend and frequent collaborator Samantha Urbani, a guest appearance from Skepta for High Street, moments where he'd recede from the front altogether and let his band induldge in extended grooves, and a ridiculous stage invasion ending, his presence was constantly felt.
