Watch: Vanilla Hammer - Starting At The End

Completing his trilogy of EPs spurned from the arduous task of maintaining a sense of humanity in our technology obsessed and 'always on' world, Vanilla Hammer today shares a track and video from forthcoming release 'Our Dust'. Entitled Starting At The End, it gives the feeling of working on an assembly line, with the occasional crash and choral break offering a jolt back into reality.

Accompanied by a visual concoction created by experimental filmmaker HUNTERTEXAS, the displacing visuals glide effortlessly alongside Vanilla Hammer's robotically driven track, and plays host to a range of oddities including nesting pigeons, marble surfaces and facial treatments.

In Vanilla Hammer's own words:

"This release is the final part in my trilogy of EPs about the anxiety of trying to keep a sense of humanity in our hyper-connected, technologically-driven world. The EPs mirror the stages I went through during writing, but the same confrontational tone runs through them all. With a focus on the feet and the spirit, these are intended to motivate, and to keep the listener alert. The first EP, 'Retreat' (released on patten's Kaleidoscope label), was about disappearing from it all and searching for some kind of wilderness. The second EP, 'Diss Patches' (also on Kaleidoscope), was about facing up to reality head on, and toughening up for the task at hand. Now, 'Our Dust' is about starting again from scratch, and preparing for the future – whatever that could be."
