Real Lies - North Circular

After blowing us away with their debut single World Peace last year, North London band Real Lies are returning with a second AA-side single, Dab Housing/North Circular.

First heard through a BBC Maida Vale live session last year, North Circular is an ode to the 25-mile stretch of road that gives the songs its title – all the lives lived and loves lost for the people whose homes the road passes over. It's tinged with melancholy, but there's romance and optimism here, even if it is in the face of a hopeless and pointless reality. The music belongs to either a faded memory or to a future that's out of reach; either way, it speaks to the present.
