Watch: Grimes - California
After posting a teaser trailer on Friday, Grimes has released the video for her 'Art Angels' song California.
A different version of the album track, the visual is the final part of a self-directed (Grimes' brother Mac is a co-producer again) film trilogy that started with Flesh Without Blood/Life in the Vivid Dream last year and followed by Kill V. Maim earlier this year.
In the video, Grimes pirouettes as part of a ribbon dance in a room of primary colours and plays a janitor sweeping a room where marble busts have been made. It also stars a series of characters including cowboys, a lady feeding a decadent figure tomatoes, and a woman painted as a corpse, and the usual colour you would expect from a Grimes performance.
Update (05/10): Grimes has explained why the California video has a different version of the track on Twitter – the video was "dissonant" with the original track, and didn't "elicit visuals in her mind naturally." Read her full tweet below.
