CYMBALS - The End

CYMBALS have made a video for the penultimate song from their second LP 'The Age of Fracture', The End. Directed by Matthew Reid, who has worked with the band previously on the promo for earlier single Erosion, it takes the overlapping rhythms of London life as its subject – running from 4am to the same time 24 hours later and repeating. Describing the video, Reid speaks of his interest in "grey area between four in the morning and dawn when you have people going home from the night before and people getting up for work, sharing the same night bus." CYMBALS do love a good night bus.

It's a fertile time and rich topic for the art pop group, who are never short on ideas to lock their teeths into and a groove onto, the song's tentative euphoria matching the documentary-style shots of the city moving through a typical day-cycle. For further insight into CYMBALS' world, check out their run-down of 10 key influences on the new album, and see if you can catch them live at one of their shows in London and North America over the next couple of months.
