Watch a robots dancing with pure light, soundtracked by Oneohtrix Point Never

This year’s Saatchi and Saatchi New Directors’ Showcase took on a theme simply entitled ‘Meet Your Creator’. One of the submissions to the project was a startling Quadrator Show featuring a troupe of sixteen flying robots manipulating and dancing to light and sound. A collaborative effort by show directors Marshmellow Laser Feast, robot developers Kmel Robotics, set designers Sam & Arthur amongst others, the show notably features some fantastic synthwork from Oneohtrix Point Never.

The concise show is clearly concerned with the future, and OPN’s contributions have a definite techno-inspired push to them, but the technical marvel and possible dystopian gloom is sliced through with a celestial crescendo and a nice little punchline at the close of the performance.
