Premiere: Heatsick - Snakes & Ladders

I was lucky enough to catch Brit-in-Berlin producer Heatsick, maker of subversive dance music and a playful Dummy Mix, at MoMA PS1's Warm Up series in New York this summer. Quite aside from the ecstatic Casio jams, it was great to see that stance in person: his lean-back, super casual way of teasing rhythm from his keyboard. There's nothing casual about Snakes & Ladders – his new 12" as part of Sounds Of The Universe's Art & Sound series – instead it has a deliciously raw swing to it. This is body music, made for fully inhabiting the moment, as this rainbow-washed video featuring Heatsick and friends getting their dance on illustrates.
