Oneohtrix Point Never gives lecture, explores the fantastical realms of music

As part of the final wave of Red Bull Music Academy Open Session of workshops and concerts happening in Madrid this week, Dan ‘Oneohtrix Point Never’ Lopatin visited the studios on Sunday 20th November to give a lecture about gear, sampling and exploring the fantastical realms of music. He also touches on growing up in Boston in the must-watch video above.

In other OPN news: for our friends who live in New York, Dan will be co-hosting a multimedia performance, titled ‘PopRally presents Reliquary House’, with visual artist Nate Boyce at The Museum of Modern Art. According to the press release, the duo will “re-imagine the canon of modernist sculpture through hallucinatory reconstructions of works by David Smith, Jacob Epstein, and Anthony Caro, among other sculptures in MoMA’s collection.” Sound design will come from OPN, while Nate Boyce will use CGI to “reconfigure the museum setting and pull historical art objects into a new context.” There’s more info here.
