Love Cult - Place to Get Lost In

Our previous flickr artist of the month Ivan also plays music with his wife under the name Love Cult, and he sent me their latest video which I think is brilliant. It’s a typically beautiful example of a low-budget analogue music video, with a unique feeling.

The video was made by a young art/fashion/music video-maker from Petrozavodsk, Russia named Nikita Hilko and it’s only his second music video.

Ivan said he was keen to shoot on a desolate beach and some forests in the night-time, and drove them 100 kilometres North of Petrozavodsk… The video contains fluid double exposures and was partly inspired by the red room scenes in Twin Peaks. Ivan says “with budget of 40 euros, shot in 6 hours, edited in a few weeks, this is a work I feel proud of – huge respect for this guy.”

“And the track itself is a short version of our side for the 7” split with MAAAA… Straightforward, noisy but melodic in a bizzare way.”
