The oldest piano shop in Paris

Marc Manceaux is a man who is passionate about his work and has owned Fournitures Generales Pour Le Piano for 15 years, having also worked in the shop for the 13 years previous. Manceaux’s tiny store is packed full of old piano parts and his job consists in making, sourcing and selling them. The short film is tenderly shot by duo Tom Wrigglesworth and Mathiew Cuvelier and Manceaux talks about trying to “make a historic piano sing again” and sees his huge stock of old, unusable instruments as an organ bank for creating new ones. The owner dreams of building a piano with a single string but is also realistic and ends by giving himself an estimate of a decade more in the business before once again affirming his undying love for the piano.
