Jeff Mills - Light From The Outside World

One of the original dons of techno, Jeff Mills has collaborated with the Orchestre National d’Ile-de-France, conducted by Christophe Mangou, for a 90-minute performance named ‘Light From The Outside World’. Mills himself has been on a project to expand techno from beyond the confines of the club for a while now, be it by soundtracking a Fritz Lang masterpiece, DJing on the floor, or with his previous orchestral collaboration with Montpellier Philharmonic. This most recent effort is perhaps his most substantial though, and can either be deemed visionary or cheesy, depending on your outlook.
