Hot Chip - Flutes

In anticipation of a fifth album from the band credited with bringing synth pop to the indie consciousness, Hot Chip have dropped an unassuming video for lead-single Flutes. Featuring hand-held footage of the band recording and someone spinning around on what can only be assumed is a studio swivel chair, the disorienting effects of dizziness come through a lurching soundtrack. Joe Goddard’s typically androgynous vocal ebbs in and out of over endless tempo changes, over repetitive and warped disco beats. ‘In Our Heads’ is out on Domino June 11th.
