Ella Thompson - Arcade

Ella Thompson is an Australian musician and singer. We've actually written about her before, but in a different guise: she's one half of the '80s funk-leaning, squash-playing pop duo GL.

Thompson's new song is called Arcade, and it takes a direction that's a little less made-for-the-dancefloor than her music with GL is. Taking a more inward-looking approach, Arcade is a real tearjerking synth pop ballad that sounds a lot more modern than its fuzzy, VHS-era music video might suggest.
