Coming Up: Only Real

We’ve been following Only Real since early last year, when the 21-year-old West Londoner’s Soundcloud full of cooing falsettos, gravelly half-rapping and nonchalant guitar strums caught our attention. His lazy love songs Cadillac Girl and Backseat Kissers are among our favourites of 2012, and with plenty of new material on the way and a single launch party at the Shacklewell Arms on the 28th January, it seems like a safe bet to assume that 2013 holds good things for him.

Stopping for a beer on King Street in Hammersmith, the singer took this opportunity on a wet Friday to tell us about where he’s come up from, where he’s going and why we ought to be as excited about it as he is. He also proved that he can fit a lot of lollipops in his mouth at once.
