Ariel Pink - Put Your Number In My Phone

Cool dudebro Ariel Pink dons a garish cowboy outfit and pushes a man in a wheelchair around a shopping mall in his new video.

Ariel Pink, patron saint of alt dudebros, is releasing a new album called 'pom pom' in November. Its lead single is a jaunty, unfussy, and really very good pop song called Put Your Number In My Phone. There's a lot going on in its just-unveiled music video - the basic, kind of questionable premise is that Pink, wearing a garish cowboy-style outfit, pushes a man around a shopping mall in a wheelchair while attempting to pick up women.

What you gain from this viewing experience is really down to the individual, but if you need a bit of guidance, here's what director Grant Singer has to say about it: "It's a story about friendship and the pursuit of happiness. Joe Buck and Ratso Rizzo dream of life outside the sea of vacant storefronts and lonesome chattel on display in middle America." Cool.

Pink will be playing a couple of live shows in October and November, too - one in New York, one in London, and one in LA - backed by his seven person strong band. Check those dates out below.
