The Wire launches a Tumblr of their favourite album sleeves

The Wire , the experimental music magazine and not the foul-mouth American series of the same name, announced via Twitter yesterday that it was launching an album artwork-centric Tumblr .

Entitled Sleeves Received , the blog is pristine and angular, laying out the various sleeves and booklets on display with all the care of an obsessive collector, or museum curator. The collection consists of assorted items that never made it into The Wire’s pages, but deserve attention for their own immaculate design, separate from the music they contain.
